From a lathe to a modern manufacturing centre
The words “German Precision” incorporated in our company’s logo new highlight the endeavours of management and all employees. We achieve precision when manufacturing machine parts thanks to our consistent quality management, which was first certified in 1996 and has been continuously improved ever since. Our efforts ensure our customers are highly satisfied. Our long-standing customer base has expanded continuously since the company was founded.
Logo until 2010
When “Hettig & Stracke” entered the market to manufacture microscopes in 1975, it purchased the required turned parts from external companies. To ensure the parts met the required precision, we switched to manufacturing these parts ourselves. The experience gained throughout this process was used as the basis for gradually converting our Production to manufacture high-precision machine parts for almost any industry sector. As early as 1978, the company mainly focussed on this business field.

In 1980, we expanded our machine park to include our first CNC automatic lathe. This gave us the opportunity to produce large series more economically.
In the following year, Volker Hettig took over the company and continued to run it as an individual enterprise under the name “Volker Hettig – Präzisionsdrehteile”. With six employees, we produced machine parts for our growing customer base from the Löhdorfer Straße site in Solingen.
Our company today
Given the company’s successful development, we were able to construct a new building offering 600 m² of floor space on Mangenberger Straße in 1988. Since then, we have expanded the usable space on this site to 1500 m² through new buildings. At the same time, we invested in our machinery and logistics. With our modern CNC lathes and milling machines and computer-controlled high-bay warehouse, we have the technical prerequisites to reliably meet your needs.
Our highly trained and motivated employees are on hand to fulfil your orders safely and on time. They are happy to pass on their skills to our trainees, who will strengthen our team as cutting machine operators or metalworkers in the future.
